Katie Perry Electrifies People’s Choice Awards in Neon Dress

Posted by: admin @ 9:55 am

Katie Perry scooped up two awards at the People’s choice awards this week wearing this amazing prom dress:

Okay. So maybe we wouldn’t actually wear it. But then we don’t attend many award shows.

Her amazing dress featured ombre died tulle with what looks like an electric blue spatter effect. Our highly trained dress detective tells us it looks like 3D fabric pain has been spattered over the dress.

3D fabric paint. Remember that?

So if you’re after re-creating that look head down to your nearest hobby craft.

Chances are though, you’ll just look like you’ve been paintballing in your prom dress.

Perhaps not then.

Kate Middleton’s Issa dress is a sell out!

Posted by: admin @ 2:19 pm

The dress worn by Kate Middleton for the announcement of her engagement to Prince William has been an instant sell out.

The blue dress, £385 by Issa, has flown off the shelves since being seen on the bride-to-be. And it’s hardly suprising, not only is Kate gorgeous, she’s also soon to be a Royal. Who could ask for a better model?

The beautifuly cut knee length evening dress was an elegant choice, matching both Kate’s eyes and her saphire engagement ring.

With the announcement of her engagement to Prince William, the style stakes have been raised for Kate. Sales of this dress suggest she’s passed her first test with flying colours.

What does it take to win a pageant?

Posted by: admin @ 9:05 am

Ever wondered what it takes to get that sparkling tiara? And more importantly, is it even worthwhile? Rebecca Mitchell was crowned Miss Charity Wiltshire Pageant wearing the Gabriella Prom Dress by Prom Royalty so we asked her for her thoughts.

Rebecca is a true pro and she very kindly agreed to share not only her thoughts on the process, but also her top tips for pageant success.

Top Tips for Pageant Success

by Rebecca Mitchell

Entering a pageant is a daunting thing and most girls try to avoid being scrutinised for their looks and personality. If you are one of the minority who has decided to give it a go, then good on you! Pageants are not all about beauty but about charm and character. They make you feel fantastic and I see it as an excuse to be pampered and make new friends.

My first pageant was when I entered the Miss England Pageant in the Miss Wiltshire heat. This involved a live show in front of hundreds of people and 5 judges (including the previous Miss England) in a nightclub. We had 2 rounds; a club wear round and a ball dress round.

My first thought was ‘what on earth am I going to wear for the club wear section?’ and ‘What are all of the other girls going to wear?’ But the truth is. It doesn’t matter what the other girls will be wearing and generally, it doesn’t matter what you wear.

When choosing what to wear, pick something stylish that will flatter your figure. Judges don’t want to see anything too short or too tight. Go for a colour or pattern that represents you, as the main questions you will be asked is: ‘How does your outfit represent you?’ or ‘what made you pick your outfit?’

Whatever you wear, just walk with pride and think in your head ‘I know I look good!’ and the judges will be thinking the same.

Ball dresses for Pageants are tricky to get right. You don’t want one too big, too small, too revealing, too plain… The list is endless. The most important thing of all is that you feel comfortable in it.

If you feel good, then you quite frankly look good!!!

My thought for the day is ‘Pageants are pushing vulnerable girls into the limelight, but bringing confident young ladies out of it.’

These tips are a guidance as to what I recommend doing in the build up to a Pageant.

Follow them… They helped me win Miss Charity Wiltshire!

1.     Make sure you sure wearing something comfortable – The judges will be able to tell if you are not 100% happy with what you’re wearing.

2.     Make sure you eat lots of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water leading up to the event – This way your skin will be glowing and any unwanted spots will be rid of!

3.     Get a good night’s sleep the night before. Bags and groggy throats are not the top thing the judges will be looking for!

4.      Practice what you are going to say to the judges and go through every possible question they could ask you. This way, you will have an answer for everything.

5.     Finally, be confident. You have as much chance as every other girl stood next to you. Confidence is the key to success.

Good luck!
